Winter Warmth 2021

Winter Warmth 2021 the need for the program

Winter Warmth – #HelpKeepHerSafe Project

Annually, WCYR provides tangible supports to help women experiencing violence and poverty, the items they need to survive the winter months, as well as a bit extra to celebrate the holidays with their children. This year, as we continue on the road to recovery from COVID-19, it will be extremely difficult for women experiencing violence and facing barriers such as unemployment and poverty. WCYR wants to help women this holiday season not only financially but also to empower women. We all enjoy shopping for our family members and picking the perfect gift, especially for our children. We want the women we serve to experience that same joy. Therefore, WCYR is looking for your support to provide women with this same opportunity. There are a few ways you can help!

  • To support a woman or a family this year and make arrangements or have any questions, please fill out the following form, and a staff member will be in touch. https://forms.office.com/r/sCPEYepphG

  • Please use the following link if you would like to make a monetary donation. In the form, please be sure to click the drop-down menu and choose Winter Warmth - #HelpKeepHerSafe. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/65237

  • Host a mini fundraiser among your friends or family and collect gift cards for women to places like grocery stores, Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart.

  • Engage your workplace or school! Ask peers or co-workers to participate & challenge another branch or business to participate too!

We ask that sponsorship is confirmed by November 15, 2021, and items received by December 6, 2021. Donations will continue to be accepted after these dates.

Thank you for your support and belief in the work we do for women in the community.
