Making Changes Life Skills

Making Changes is a group life skills program that enables women to develop basic skills necessary to move forward and become clearer and stronger decision makers on life circumstances that negatively impact their lives. Through this active learning program women discover more about themselves and their abilities, develop confidence and use their strengths and skills in becoming the person they would like to be. Participants learn about accepting responsibility for choices they make in managing their lives.


About the Program

  • Making Changes runs Six 10 week modules and women can start with any of the three basic module.

  • Basic Modules: Self-Empowerment, Communication & Connection & Reaction to Response

  • Clients can then move onto Part 2: Healthy Boundaries, Getting Unstuck & Living Purposefully

  • Sessions are 2-1/2 hours per week.

  • All programs are offered free-of-charge.

Self-Empowerment – 10 weeks

  • The Four Parts of Self

  • Gratitude & Self-Acceptance

  • Self-Compassion

  • The Power of Personal Responsibility

  • The Message of Guilt

  • Understanding Change

  • Fear & Courage

  • Closure – Getting My Power Back

 

Reaction to Response – 10 Weeks

  • Introduction – How I React

  • Responding With Compassion

  • What I Can & Can’t Control

  • How I Cope with Difficult Emotions

  • Emotions: Coping with Discomfort

  • Emotions are Signals

  • My Values - Who I Want to Be

  • Moving Towards Who I Want to Be

  • Being Fully Present

  • Closure – Moving from Reaction to Response

Once the three basic cycles are completed, clients can then move onto Part 2, which includes the following three cycles: Healthy Boundaries, Getting Unstuck & Living Purposefully
