Women Leading Change: Celebrating the Launch of WCYR’s Inaugural Publication
On October 22, community leaders, partners and supporters gathered at The George Lounge in Newmarket to celebrate the inaugural Women Leading Change publication and honour ten women whose leadership is shaping York Region.
The evening brought the honourees together for a special recognition ceremony, with each woman receiving an award in celebration of her achievements and journey.
Women Leading Change features ten women from diverse backgrounds and professional fields. Through their stories, the publication offers a closer look at their experiences, the paths they've taken and the ways they are opening doors for others.
Celebrating Women. Supporting Women.
While Women Leading Change celebrates women’s leadership and achievements, it also supports WCYR’s #HelpKeepHerSafe campaign, which raises awareness of gender-based violence and funds programs and services for women and families facing barriers to safety, stability and independence.
Through counselling, employment and financial empowerment programs, housing support and access to essential resources, WCYR helps women build safer, more stable futures on their own terms.
By shining a light on women’s leadership across York Region, Women Leading Change also encourages community support for the work that helps women move forward.
